Neighborhood Overview - SOHO
SoHo (which stands for South-of- Houston) stretches from West Houston to Canal Streets and from the Bowery to the Hudson River. Once a manufacturing and warehouse area SOHO is now one of the hottest places to live in Manhattan. Home to huge lofts, high-end shopping, a fantastic art scene, and many of the city’s most famous eateries, SOHO is truly a thrilling place to live. Sharp-dressing crowds of models, artists, bankers, and celebrities can be found in SOHO’s many trendy bars and boutiques. As the city’s only landmarked district SOHO remains splendidly 19th century, embodying the cast-iron architecture of the day. With cobblestones lining some of the streets and stunning storefronts drawing the eye, SOHO is the place to live if you want to immerse yourself in a fascinating blend of the old and the new. |
